About Dunkeswell Raceway

Dunkeswell Raceway runs on Dunkeswell Aerodrome in the Blackdown Hills north of Honiton, and has been going for over fifty years. It is affiliated to both Motorsport UK and the ABKC, which places it in the properly-run end of the sport rather than the pure leisure end.

The Circuit

The circuit runs to 750 metres outdoors, and the venue describes it as an impressive layout that gives you the experience of racing against the elements — fair enough on an exposed Devon aerodrome. Karts include Honda and JAG Rotax machinery.

The venue does not publish a top speed, so we have not listed one.

Who Should Visit

Minimum ages and heights for karting were not published at the time of writing, so check directly before booking for children. The Combat Lab activity is noted as taking part from age 5.

Formats cover arrive-and-drive, sprint races, Grand Prix and Ultimate Grand Prix karting, so there is a clear step up from a casual session to a properly structured race. There is also a racing simulator and a woodland Combat Lab for groups where not everyone wants to drive.

There is a bar and bistro on site with an in-house chef, plus a cafe bar — better catering than most kart circuits manage. Booking is available online. Prices and opening hours were not published in full at the time of writing.
