Yorkshire offers excellent indoor karting with TeamSport venues across the region. TeamSport Leeds boasts Yorkshire's longest indoor track at 580m, while TeamSport Sheffield features an impressive 950m two-level track with ramps - one of the UK's longest indoor circuits.
TeamSport Bradford and TeamSport Hull complete the Yorkshire lineup, offering affordable racing experiences perfect for groups, parties and corporate events.
Yorkshire's karting scene is built almost entirely around indoor tracks, which is no bad thing in a part of the country where a wet afternoon can arrive without warning. All four venues here are fully under cover, so a session runs year-round regardless of the weather – a genuine advantage when you're committing a birthday party, stag do or corporate day months in advance. The tracks span the four biggest cities in the region: Leeds and Bradford in the west, Sheffield in the south, and Hull out on the Humber. Between them they cover everything from a compact, characterful circuit to one of the largest indoor tracks in the entire country, so wherever you're based there's a serious race within reach.
The standout for sheer scale is TeamSport Sheffield, a 950m multi-level circuit in a Tinsley warehouse near Meadowhall. It's one of the biggest indoor tracks in the UK, spread across several levels linked by climbing ramps and steep dive-down flyovers, and built around two layouts – a Grand Prix and a Le Mans configuration – that can be run separately or joined into one long lap. It uses Biz 200cc petrol karts quoted at up to 40mph and holds space for grids of up to 20 karts.
TeamSport Leeds is the region's flagship, billed as Yorkshire's longest indoor track at 580m. Set on South Accommodation Road just south of the city centre, it climbs onto a flyover and plunges through an echoing tunnel, and runs Sodi 200cc petrol karts at around 40mph. TeamSport Bradford, at Beckside Business Park, is the region's best-value and best-rated venue, carrying a 4.7 Google average; it's a compact single-level 580m circuit whose flyover and rollercoaster-style elevation changes have earned it a reputation as a proper driver's track. Over on the Humber, TeamSport Hull is a 400m multi-level circuit on Freightliner Road, the only one of the four to run near-silent electric karts, which lap noticeably faster than the petrol machines they replaced.
All four Yorkshire tracks welcome drivers from age 8 (a 140cm minimum height typically applies), with scaled-down cadet karts for children aged 8 to 12 and full adult karts from 13, so mixed-generation family groups can all get on track together. No licence, kit or experience is needed – you get a marshal briefing, helmet and race suit on arrival.
For first-timers and families, Bradford and Hull are the gentlest introductions: both are rated beginner-intermediate and Bradford in particular keeps prices at the value end. Beginners in Leeds are equally well served, since its 580m circuit is also pitched at the beginner-to-intermediate level. Serious racers should head to Sheffield, rated intermediate and physically demanding thanks to its endless ramps and flyovers – its scale and endurance-friendly layout suit bigger grids and proper race formats where positioning through the level changes really counts.
Every venue offers free on-site parking and is within easy reach of a city centre, so travelling by car or public transport both work well. All four have a licensed bar and a food counter (burgers, pizzas, hot dogs and waffles are standard across the chain) plus spectator areas and free Wi-Fi, so non-racers are looked after and you can make a longer outing of it. Weekends, school holidays and group slots fill up quickly, and booking online in advance usually unlocks a discount, so reserve ahead and confirm current session times and prices before you travel.
