Hull Adventure, formerly Hull Karting, is on Poorhouse Lane, east of the city centre. It is run through the city council rather than as a private leisure business, which shows in the pricing and in the structure of what is on offer — there is a proper progression here from a first session through to weekly club racing.
The main circuit runs to over 650 metres. The senior fleet is Biz Evo 2 200cc petrol karts, which top 40mph and average around 35mph over a lap, while the cadet karts run 150cc and average closer to 25mph. Book-and-drive sessions run from 15 minutes up to a full hour, and competitive races are held over 20 to 40 laps.
For a sense of pace, the circuit record stands at 50.400 seconds. A good lap in the dry is 51 to 53 seconds; in the wet, expect anywhere between 1:01 and 1:10. All figures confirmed by the venue in August 2026.
One practical thing to know before you go: every driver must register and create an online account before arrival, and complete a safety briefing video. Turning up without doing that will slow you down.
The age structure is clearly set out. Adult sessions are for drivers of 14 and above, family sessions cover 8 to 13 year olds, and there is a junior club for 8 to 14 year olds. Dual drive karts are available for those who want to share.
The weekly club nights and junior club make this a better option than most for someone who wants to race regularly rather than once. If you have a child who has caught the bug after a birthday session, this is a realistic next step.
The venue is at Poorhouse Lane, Hull HU9 5DF. Phone 01482 308740 or email [email protected].
Pricing is refreshingly transparent: book-and-drive sessions from £22 per person, races from £35 to £55, the junior club at £25 per person and dual drive karts from £45 per kart. Register online before you travel, and confirm session times when you book.
