UK Karting Lap Records

The fastest laps at Britain's circuits, split two ways: what a rental kart does in a standard arrive-and-drive session, and what a race kart does in competition. Every time is either confirmed by the venue or published by the circuit's own kart club.

Records are listed in the order received and shown per circuit — lap times at different tracks are not directly comparable, as every layout differs in length and character. Each entry is the venue's current confirmed record — season-best or all-time, as the venue keeps it — updated whenever a venue confirms a new fastest lap.

Run a karting venue? Claim your place on the board.

Send us your track's fastest rental lap and we'll list it here and on your GoKartingUK track page, credited to your venue — and your venue qualifies for the official UK Lap Record badge to display on your own website. Free and permanent; venue-confirmed times only.

How the board works

Britain has no central record of rental karting lap times — every venue keeps its own leaderboard, and none of them talk to each other. This board brings those records together in one place, with one rule: every time on it either comes from the venue that owns the timing data, or is published by the circuit's own kart club and credited to it in the table. We don't accept driver submissions and we don't estimate. Venues with a record on the board qualify for the official Lap Record badge.

The board splits records two ways. The rental column is the fastest lap set in a standard arrive-and-drive session — the time an ordinary visitor is actually racing against. The owner-driver column is the outright circuit record set in competition, on a race kart the venue does not hire out. The two are not comparable: at a circuit running both, they can be many seconds apart, because a race kart and a rental kart are different machines entirely. Because circuits differ hugely in length and layout, times are records for that circuit rather than a ranking between venues — a 22-second lap of a tight indoor track and a minute-long lap of an outdoor grand prix circuit are both mighty in their own right.

Frequently Asked Questions

What counts as an official lap record on this board?

There are two. A rental record is a lap set in a standard arrive-and-drive session on the venue's own timing system and confirmed to us by the venue. An owner-driver record is the outright circuit record set in competition, taken either from the venue or from the kart club that runs racing at the circuit, and credited to that source in the table. We do not list simulator laps or unverified driver claims.

Why can't lap times at different tracks be compared directly?

Every circuit is a different length and layout, so raw lap times only tell you who is quickest at that particular track. Each record stands on its own; track length is shown so you can judge the pace.

How does a venue get its lap record listed?

Venues can send their fastest lap — time, kart type, layout and the driver's first name — using the submission form on this page. Listing is free and permanent, and records are updated whenever the venue confirms a new fastest lap.
