About BattleKart Sheffield

BattleKart Sheffield on Downgate Drive is the Yorkshire site of the augmented-reality karting chain, and it works nothing like the indoor circuits elsewhere in the city. The hall has no built track. Projectors put the circuit on the floor, sensors in the electric karts read it, and the whole layout changes when you switch game mode.

For a city already well served by conventional karting, it is the genuinely different option rather than another 400-metre indoor circuit.

The Circuit

No track length applies — the circuit is projected and changes between games. Six modes are offered: BattleRace, BattleVirus, BattleFoot, BattlePool, BattleSnake and BattleColor.

Sessions last 15 minutes including boarding and landing, for 2 to 12 players.

Who Should Visit

Sheffield publishes no minimum age, but every player must be at least 4‹9″ (about 145cm). Height rather than age is the deciding factor, which catches families out — check before you drive over.

It suits groups, families with taller children and anyone wanting something other than a standard indoor circuit.
