TeamSport Reading is an indoor karting centre on Cradock Road, just off the A33 near the Madejski Stadium south of the town. It is one of the chain's bigger sites and is really two attractions in one: alongside the main 450m electric go-kart circuit there is a separate Combat Karts track, where karts are fitted with blasters, boosts and power-ups for a more game-like battle. Add Duckpin bowling on site and it becomes a venue you can build a whole outing around rather than a single-race stop. It is well reviewed too, with a 4.4 out of 5 average from over 2,300 Google reviews.
The main track is a 450m electric circuit that TeamSport describes as a twisting, double-loop layout β plenty of direction changes and tighter turns that put a premium on smooth, consistent driving rather than one big straight. The electric karts are quiet and quick off the mark, and because the power delivery is predictable you can concentrate on lines and braking points from your first laps. It is an accessible track for newcomers, but experienced drivers will still find time to be won in the technical sections. If you fancy something different, the Combat Karts track next door swaps pure lap times for tactics β it is open to drivers aged 13 and over.
Reading suits a wide range of visitors. Standard go-karting is open from age 8 (with the usual TeamSport briefing and kit provided, so no experience is needed), which makes it a solid choice for family visits and children's parties. The dual-track set-up is a real draw for older groups and stag or hen parties: you can split time between conventional racing and the more anarchic Combat Karts, then round things off with bowling. It is equally set up for corporate and team days, with group packages covering exclusive track time, timed racing and catering.
The centre is on Cradock Road, Reading (RG2 0EE), roughly two miles from Reading train station β about eight minutes by car, or a 20-minute bus ride on routes serving the Madejski Stadium area; several local bus services stop nearby. There is free on-site parking and free Wi-Fi, and the main track and pit lane are wheelchair accessible, with disabled parking available. As an indoor venue it runs year-round whatever the weather.
Food and drink are served from a bar area β burgers, pizzas, hot dogs and waffles among them β so there is no need to head off straight after racing. Because Reading offers karting, Combat Karts and bowling under one roof, it is worth deciding in advance which you want and booking ahead, especially at weekends; TeamSport usually discounts advance online bookings. Confirm current session times and prices with the venue directly before travelling.
Drivers need to be at least 8+ to race at TeamSport Reading. A minimum height of 140cm also applies β please check before booking with younger visitors.
Yes β TeamSport Reading is rated beginner-intermediate and is genuinely accessible to drivers with no previous experience. No racing licence or prior karting is required for standard arrive & drive sessions.
TeamSport Reading is fully indoors, so sessions run year-round regardless of weather. This makes it a reliable choice for corporate events, birthday parties, and group bookings where weather uncertainty would otherwise be a factor.
Yes, food and drink are available on site at TeamSport Reading. You can make a full outing of your visit without needing to find somewhere nearby.
Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly for weekend sessions, corporate days, and birthday parties. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed. Book via the official TeamSport Reading website or calling 01252 732300 to secure your session.
