Get corporate quotes →This is Daytona's flagship outdoor venue, and it has genuine motorsport pedigree. The site opened in 1990 as the James Hunt Racing Centre, with the circuit designed by the 1976 Formula 1 World Champion himself. After a brief early life it fell quiet, before Daytona Motorsport took it over in 1996 and turned it into one of the UK's best-known kart circuits. Today it runs two tracks side by side: the full-length 1,360m International Circuit for adults and experienced juniors, and a separate 400m North Circuit built for younger drivers. That split is what makes it work for such a wide range of visitors — from six-year-olds in their first Bambino kart to adults chasing lap times in a 70mph DMAX.
The International Circuit is the main event and one of the more demanding rental layouts in the country. Its 1,360 metres take in eleven corners — a mix of hairpins, chicanes and flowing sequences — plus an uphill straight that keeps the rhythm interesting and gives you a real run before the braking zones. Because it is long and technical, it rewards drivers who can string a lap together rather than just point and squirt: braking points, a tidy line and consistency over a full stint all matter here. Rental adults and older juniors run the 4-stroke SODI SR5 (around 50mph), while experienced 16-plus drivers can step up to the 125cc Rotax DMAX, a proper two-stroke that tops out near 70mph. Younger racers stay on the compact 400m North Circuit in age-matched Bambino, Cadet and Junior karts.
The two-circuit setup means Daytona Milton Keynes suits almost everyone. Families are well covered: kids can start from age six on the North Circuit, so a birthday party or a mixed-age group works without anyone being left out. No experience or kit is needed for standard sessions — you turn up, get briefed and race in supplied helmets and suits.
Corporate and group bookings are a core part of what the venue does, with team endurance races run over three to six hours, exclusive hire, professional timing and catering from the on-site restaurant. And for regulars, there is a full competition ladder — InKart and SuperChamps championships, a Thursday Night League and a Masters League — so this is a track people come back to rather than tick off once.
The venue is on the Rooksley Roundabout, Dansteed Way, Milton Keynes (MK13 8NP), a couple of minutes from the A5 and central Milton Keynes. Being outdoors, sessions run in most weather — wet running is part of the fun on the International Circuit — but it is worth a call ahead if the forecast looks severe. Note the site is alcohol-free: there is a full restaurant and a café doing barista coffee and snacks, but no bar, which is worth knowing if you are planning a stag do.
Book ahead, especially for weekend slots, championships and parties, as walk-in space is not guaranteed. Prices sit at the higher end of UK karting, and online advance booking often carries a discount, so check the official site or call before you travel to confirm current rates and session times.
