Get corporate quotes →Kart Silverstone opened in April 2026 at the home of the British Grand Prix, and it is the most significant new kart circuit to open in Britain for years. George Russell set the first benchmark lap at the launch, alongside Sky Sports F1's David Croft.
The circuit was developed in collaboration with Motorsport UK, and the intent is clear: entry-level motorsport at a world-class venue, open to anyone from age six upward.
The track runs to 1,377 metres to international standard, with five different configurations — which is unusual and genuinely useful, because it means the layout can be matched to the session rather than everyone running the same lap.
Up to 25 karts can run on track at once, with a maximum engine capacity of 390cc and speeds quoted at up to 55mph. At that length and that grid size, this is a proper race circuit rather than a leisure loop.
The age range is deliberately broad. Arrive-and-drive starts at six through the Bambino programme, and championships open up from eight.
The programme structure goes well beyond casual sessions: induction training for rookies, solo coaching, race formats with qualifying and podium presentations, owner-driver test days, championships, and the Kart Silverstone Academy running full-day tuition. There are also kids' parties, venue hire and sim racing. For anyone wanting to progress rather than just have a go, the ladder here is more complete than almost anywhere.
Kart Silverstone is at Silverstone Circuit, Towcester, Northamptonshire NN12 8TN, off the A43 between Towcester and Brackley.
Published starting prices are Silverstone 30 from £70 and Silverstone 60 from £100, with Bambino induction from £75, Bambino solo coaching from £120 and junior solo coaching from £240. Booking runs through the circuit's own system.
There is a rooftop viewing terrace overlooking the circuit and Box Box Pizza, a year-round restaurant and bar open to everyone, plus sim racing from Base Performance Simulators. Because the site sits within an active race circuit, check availability against the Silverstone event calendar before travelling.
