Get corporate quotes →Formula Fast is an indoor circuit on the Bond Estate in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, and it punches well above its size. It is the home of the British Rental Kart Championship — the country's premier rental kart competition — and has been ranked the number one indoor karting circuit on Tripadvisor. That combination of a serious racing pedigree and a strong visitor reputation is rare.
The venue specialises in private race events for groups of six or more, and has expanded beyond karting into escape rooms, axe throwing and virtual clay shooting.
The circuit runs to over 500 metres indoors, with a wide layout, a long straight and a mix of fast and technical corners. Width matters more than people expect on an indoor track: it is the difference between racing and following, and it is part of why the venue can host a national championship rather than just arrive-and-drive sessions.
The fleet is properly specified — Sodi SR5 200cc karts for adults and Biz Evo Cadet 120cc machines for juniors, so younger drivers get equipment scaled to them rather than a restricted adult kart.
The age split is by kart rather than by session: juniors are 8 to 14 with a 125cm minimum height, and adults are 15 and over with a 152cm minimum. That 152cm adult threshold is worth checking before booking for a younger teenager.
The format list is unusually deep. Adult timed practice runs at £40 a driver for one to five people, Grand Prix racing at £50 a driver for groups of six to 36, and Le Mans endurance at £210 a team for 37 or more. Juniors have their own timed practice at £40, a track day at £75 including a pizza lunch, and private parties at £300 for six. There are also mixed-age Friends and Family sessions at £40 a driver, and members' formats at £33.35 to £45 for regular racers.
The venue is at Unit 3, Bond Estate, Bond Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK1 1JJ. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 10pm and is closed Mondays, though the venue will consider private enquiries for that day. Pre-booking is essential.
There is a licensed bar, a cafe and snack bar and flatbread pizzas, with food and drink packages available — bottomless soft drinks on the Plus package, or an hour of bottomless pizza on the Signature. Note the venue's own rule that you cannot drink alcohol before karting or axe throwing.
If you want to make more of the visit, the site also runs award-winning escape rooms, axe throwing and virtual clay shooting, which makes it a strong pick for a company day where not everyone wants to race.
Juniors race from age 8 to 14 with a minimum height of 125cm, and adults from age 15 with a minimum height of 152cm. Check the adult height requirement before booking for a younger teenager.
Adult timed practice is £40 per driver for groups of one to five, Grand Prix racing is £50 per driver for six to 36 drivers, and Le Mans endurance is £210 per team for 37 or more. Junior timed practice is £40, a junior track day is £75 including pizza, and a junior party is £300 for six children.
Adults race Sodi SR5 200cc karts and juniors race Biz Evo Cadet 120cc karts, so younger drivers are in equipment scaled to them.
The venue opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 10pm and is closed on Mondays, although private enquiries for Mondays are considered. Pre-booking is essential.
The site also has award-winning escape rooms, axe throwing and virtual clay shooting, plus a licensed bar and cafe. Note you cannot drink alcohol before karting or axe throwing.
