The Circuit

The karting is outdoors. Knockhill does not publish a track length for the kart circuit, so we have not listed one — but the fleet is well documented. Adults and drivers from 12 race Sodi SR5 Pro Karts with Honda GX270 engines running on LPG, which the venue says reach 50mph on the straights. That is genuinely quick for a hire kart, and the LPG fuelling keeps emissions down without losing the pace.

Who Should Visit

There is a clear three-tier structure. Cadet karts (LR5) run for ages 8 to 11 with a minimum height of 127cm and top out around 25mph. Pro Karts open up from 12, with a minimum height of 157cm — worth checking before booking for a younger teenager, as that is a tall requirement. The 2-Drive Dream Racer tandem takes children from 4 at a minimum height of 100cm with an adult of 18 or over driving.

Formats run from 20 and 30 minute track sessions through 25 and 50 lap sprint races to Grand Prix events and team endurance races, plus family sessions, birthday parties and a monthly Kids Karting Club.
