West Coast Karting has been running at the Solway Trading Estate in Maryport since 1992, and describes itself as North-West England's largest indoor go-karting track. For west Cumbria it is effectively the local option — the nearest alternatives are a long drive away, with Rowrah the closest outdoor circuit.

The Circuit

The circuit is indoors. West Coast does not publish a track length, kart specification or top speed, so we have not listed any — ask when you book if the figures matter to you.

What it does set out clearly is the race formats: practice laps, a Grand Prix format run over five heats and a final, and a Monaco format over seven heats with trophies for the top three.

Who Should Visit

The venue describes itself as suitable for ages 8 to 80 and above, so it is pitched at general visitors and families rather than specialists.

Birthday party packages with catering are available, and gift vouchers can be bought. Having been open since 1992 it is a long-established fixture rather than a recent arrival.
