BattleKart Sittingbourne at Hooks Hole Farm, Borden, was the chain's first UK site and remains the cheapest of the four. It is augmented-reality karting rather than conventional racing: no physical circuit, a projected track on the floor of the hall, and electric karts carrying sensors that react to what is projected.

For north Kent it is the closest thing to a genuinely novel motorsport night out, and the pricing is noticeably below the chain's other sites.

The Circuit

There is no track length to quote — the circuit is projected and changes with the game mode. Six are offered: BattleRace, BattleVirus, BattleFoot, BattlePool, BattleSnake and BattleColor.

A session lasts 15 minutes including boarding and landing, for 2 to 12 players.

Who Should Visit

There is no minimum age, but every player must be at least 1.45 metres tall. As with the rest of the chain, height is the rule that actually decides whether a child can race, so measure rather than assume.

Best for groups, families with taller children, and birthday parties looking for something other than a standard circuit.

It is closed Monday and Tuesday, open 4pm-8pm Wednesday and Thursday, 4pm-10pm Friday, 9am-10pm Saturday and 9am-8pm Sunday, with extended holiday hours. Weekday prices are £17.95 for the first game, £16.95 for the second and £15.95 thereafter; weekends and holidays are £19.95, £18.95 and £17.95. Some slots need booking 24 hours ahead.
