SOAR Electric Karting is an indoor multi-level circuit at the Medway Distribution Centre in Gillingham. It runs an all-electric fleet, and for the Medway towns it is the nearest purpose-built indoor track.
The circuit is indoors across multiple levels. The karts are OTL Storm EFD machines, which the venue describes as among the most technically innovative electric karts on the market, quoted at up to 40mph.
Electric power suits a multi-level indoor building: the torque arrives instantly on the climbs, and there are no fumes in an enclosed space. The circuit measures 305 metres on the centre line, confirmed by the venue. Some third-party listings quote 300m and 45mph; SOAR have confirmed 305m and a 40mph top speed.
Minimum ages and heights were not published at the time of writing, so check directly before booking for children — though the venue does run junior karts and academy programmes, so younger drivers are catered for.
The format list covers arrive-and-drive, Grand Prix racing, corporate events, high-speed parties and junior birthday parties. There is also a SIM room for simulator racing, which gives non-drivers or waiting groups something to do.
The venue is at Units 1 and 2, Medway Distribution Centre, Gillingham, Kent ME8 0RT. Phone 01634 791300 or email [email protected].
There is a cafe and a viewing area on site. Being fully indoors, racing runs all year round without weather affecting bookings. Pricing quoted at the time of writing included a three-race package of 3 x 10 minutes at £39.50 — confirm current rates and opening hours when you book.
There are two fleets. The junior karts are for drivers between 127cm and 160cm tall, recommended from age 6. The adult karts need a minimum height of 153cm and are recommended from age 12. Junior karts have an upper height limit as well as a lower one, so a taller child moves up to the adult fleet rather than being turned away.
