Gravity Wandsworth isn't a standalone kart circuit β it's the e-karting attraction inside Gravity Max, a large indoor entertainment complex spread over several floors at the Southside shopping centre. That context matters when you're deciding where to go. Alongside the karting you'll find ten-pin bowling, VR, tower-tag, urban mini golf, shuffleboard, darts and batting cages, plus bars and food, so a visit here is really about a mixed day or night out rather than a pure racing trip. The karts are fully electric, which keeps the enclosed, city-centre space quiet and fume-free.
The track is a genuinely unusual one for London: 181 metres in total, of which around 82 metres runs on raised, multi-level sections, so you climb and descend as well as turn. Designed by track builder 360 Karting, it packs in chicanes, a banked semi-oval and a spiral ramp within a compact five-metre-wide ribbon, with a lap taking roughly 17 seconds and up to ten karts on track at once. It's tight and busy rather than fast and flowing, so success is about placing the kart neatly and keeping momentum through the level changes, not chasing a long straight.
This is a strong pick for families, birthdays and casual groups more than for committed racers. Standard sessions are open to ages 8 and up in speed-limited Family Mode, and there are two-seater karts that let children from around age 4 ride along with an adult. Older and more confident drivers (roughly 12+) can switch to Pro Mode, which lifts the speed limiter and adds a boost button, giving the racing a bit more edge.
Because everything is under one roof, it works especially well for kids' parties and groups with mixed interests β some can race while others bowl or try the VR β and it's an easy add-on to a shopping trip. Do check the current age and height requirements when you book, as the karting has its own rules separate from the rest of the venue.
You'll find Gravity Max at Southside, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 4TF, inside the Southside shopping centre and a short walk from Wandsworth Town railway station β parking at the centre makes driving in straightforward too. It's entirely indoors, so weather is never a factor.
There are bars and food outlets within the complex, so it's easy to make an afternoon or evening of it around your race. Individual e-karting races are short β a single race rather than a long endurance session β so many people pair karting with one or two of the other activities to fill out the visit.
Karting slots and party packages get busy at weekends and school holidays, so book ahead online rather than turning up on spec. Prices sit in the mid range for London; confirm the latest rates, race lengths and any age or height limits with the venue before you travel.
Drivers need to be at least 8+ to race at Gravity Wandsworth. A minimum height of 140cm also applies β please check before booking with younger visitors.
Yes β Gravity Wandsworth is rated beginner and is genuinely accessible to drivers with no previous experience. No racing licence or prior karting is required for standard arrive & drive sessions.
Gravity Wandsworth is fully indoors, so sessions run year-round regardless of weather. This makes it a reliable choice for corporate events, birthday parties, and group bookings where weather uncertainty would otherwise be a factor.
Yes, food and drink are available on site at Gravity Wandsworth. You can make a full outing of your visit without needing to find somewhere nearby.
Advance booking is strongly recommended, particularly for weekend sessions, corporate days, and birthday parties. Walk-in availability is not guaranteed. Book via the official Gravity Wandsworth website to secure your session.
“WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!!! I went there with my family for my daughter's 12th birthday and we loved how we didn't have to wait for barely any attractions (except for the e-kart--which was for about 30 mins each-- and rarely for the VR one). From MANY VR attractions, bowling,⦔
