Get corporate quotes →This is the Canary Wharf track many Londoners still know as Capital Karts. In May 2024 it was bought by K1 Speed, the large American indoor-karting operator, and rebranded — so you get a venue with an established local following now backed by an international chain. It sits right in the middle of the Docklands financial district, which shapes the whole experience: it's squarely aimed at after-work groups, City corporate days and visitors staying in the area, rather than families making a special trip out to a circuit. The karts are 100% electric, so the racing is quick and quiet with no engine fumes indoors — a genuine plus in an enclosed city venue.
Racing here is on OTL Storm electric karts. The adult machines are rated at around 20bhp and reach roughly 45mph (about 72kph), which is properly fast for an indoor floor, while the junior karts are speed-limited to somewhere near 20mph. Because the power is electric, drive arrives the instant you touch the pedal, so corner exits reward smoothness rather than revs — get on the throttle cleanly and the kart simply goes. As a safety measure the marshals can slow or stop any kart remotely from race control, which keeps mixed-ability grids sensible without a marshal having to physically reach a spun car.
The set-up here works best for adults and confident teenagers. Adult karts require drivers to be 14 or over and at least 145cm (4ft 9in) tall; there is a separate junior category for ages 7 to 13 who measure at least 125cm (4ft 1in), with junior races finishing by late afternoon each day. If you're bringing very young children, check the height rule carefully before booking.
Alongside walk-up arrive & drive sessions, K1 Speed runs competitive formats — timed Grid Nights, Drift Nights and league-style Challenge GP events — plus one-to-one coaching, birthday and stag/hen packages, and corporate team days. The financial-district location and dedicated event spaces make it a natural pick for office bookings, and the all-indoor format means a date never gets rained off.
You'll find the venue at 15 Cabot Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 4QT, a short walk from Canary Wharf station on both the Jubilee line and the Elizabeth line — so most people arrive without a car, which suits a city-centre trip. It's fully indoors and runs year-round whatever the weather.
On site there's the Paddock Lounge, a licensed bar and restaurant serving burgers, wings, nachos and drinks, so it's easy to turn a race session into a full evening with a group. There are also full-motion racing simulators if some of your party want to keep competing between track sessions.
Weekend and evening slots fill quickly, and corporate or party bookings need arranging ahead, so reserve in advance rather than relying on walking in. Prices sit at the premium London end; confirm current rates, session times and any age or height details directly with the venue before you travel.
