About Inverness Kart Raceway

Inverness Kart Raceway is the Highlands' indoor circuit, on Fairways Business Park just off Sir Walter Scott Drive on the eastern edge of the city. For a region this size it is a genuinely important venue — the next nearest indoor track is a long drive south, so for Inverness, Nairn, Dingwall and the wider Highland area this is effectively the local option.

The Circuit

The circuit runs to 320 metres indoors, on a purpose-designed layout. The fleet is electric, which suits an indoor building — no fumes, no engine noise to shout over, and instant torque out of the corners. Being indoors it also runs whatever the Highland weather is doing, which matters more here than almost anywhere else in Britain.

Who Should Visit

Karting is open from age 8. Younger children are catered for too: the venue runs a dual kart that takes drivers from age 5 alongside an adult, so a family with a wide age spread can all get on track rather than leaving the youngest watching.

It suits first-timers, family visits and group bookings. As the Highlands' main indoor venue it is worth booking ahead, particularly in school holidays and through the winter.
