It is an outdoor circuit built around family visits rather than serious competition, and it has an unusually wide age range — from battery karts for three-year-olds up to 270cc machines for adults.
This is an outdoor track, and the venue does not publish a length, so we have not listed one. What it does publish is the fleet, which is more useful for choosing a session: Kadet 120cc karts for ages 8 to 13, RT-200 200cc karts from 13, RT-270 270cc karts from 17, a tandem 200cc kart for an adult with a child, and battery-powered karts for the youngest visitors.
Very few UK circuits genuinely cater from age three, and this one does. The battery karts take children from 3 at £2 a session, the tandem lets an adult take a child from age 4 on track, and the Kadet class opens up at 8 with a minimum height of 130cm.
Sessions run as 10-minute time trials on an arrive-and-drive basis, which suits a family passing through on a Highland holiday rather than committing to a half-day. Group bookings are available for eight or more drivers.
The raceway is at Granish, Aviemore PH22 1QD, just off the A9 and a few minutes north of Aviemore itself.
Prices are refreshingly simple: Kadet £14, RT-200 £16, RT-270 £20 and the tandem £22, each for a 10-minute time trial, with the kiddie karts at £2. The venue is open every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and welcomes groups and families year-round — though as an outdoor Highland circuit it is worth checking conditions before travelling in winter.
The range is unusually wide. Battery-powered karts take children from age 3, the tandem kart takes a child from 4 with an adult driving, Kadet karts run from 8 to 13 with a minimum height of 130cm, RT-200 karts from 13 and RT-270 karts from 17.
Prices are per 10-minute time trial: Kadet £14, RT-200 £16, RT-270 £20 and the tandem kart £22. The battery karts for young children are £2 a session. Confirm current rates when booking.
