UK venues that take a 4 year old

Selected on the minimum age each venue publishes, and ranked youngest first. Almost every venue also applies a minimum height, commonly 120cm to 140cm, and height is the rule that actually stops a booking on the day — confirm both before travelling. Where a venue does not publish a minimum age we leave it out rather than guess.

What a 4-year-old actually drives

A venue that accepts this age is running a cadet or battery-kart session rather than putting a small child in an adult kart. Those sessions often run at set times only, so the date matters as much as the age.

Height is what catches families out. A child can be old enough and still be turned away at the desk for not reaching the pedals safely. Ask for the height minimum when you book, not when you arrive.

Common questions

Can a 4 year old go karting in the UK?

At these venues, yes. Most UK circuits start at eight, so the list is short and worth checking against where you live.

Is there a height limit as well?

Almost always, commonly between 120cm and 140cm depending on the kart. Height is what is checked on the day.

Can they race with older children?

Usually not in the same session, because venues separate cadet and adult karts by speed. Several run a family session where both go out in turn.
